About Carmen

I grew up in a small farm town in Switzerland. We had a whole menagerie of pets and I always had a very deep connection with animals and nature. While we didn’t have any livestock ourselves, many hours were spent in our neighbor’s barns and stables - mucking, feeding, grooming and loving on cows, sheep, goats and horses. And I was out in nature as much as I possibly could, a love that was nurtured by my parents.
At age 22 I packed my bags and moved across the ocean to California to study photography. While I enjoyed my courses, I kept being pulled back to animals, working in dog kennels, petsitting and volunteering with Best Friends Animal Society. In 2007 I drove to Colorado for an intensive 2-week course in equine and canine massage and animal Reiki. While my massage business never quite took off, it lead me to continue my education in equine sciences at Pierce College, become a Reiki Master and also introduced me to animal communication. I took a class with renowned animal communicator Carol Guerney and dabbled for a while. Then life happened and everything was put on a backburner while I tried to figure out my next steps and ended up moving my dog and myself to a small island in Washington State. Being back in a rural area was medicine for heart and soul. I was once again reminded on how much I love being in nature and around animals. Fast forward to 2024 and a very sick dog. I hired an animal communicator to check in with him and in the process re-kindled my own fire. I started practicing again, took a couple of small courses to refresh my memory and then took a big step and signed up for the Animal Communication Academy. I now feel ready to share my passion with you and help you connect to your animals on a deeper level.
